Freshers – “Draw Your Color”

Da Nang - On the very first day of November, 2015, the Department of International Studies, University of Foreign Language Studies - The University of Da Nang has gladly held a series of events to warmly welcome the freshers of the academic year of 2015-2016. These aimed to help them integrate into their new academic environment and to feel the department as their family in the coming years.
Freshman Camp
In the afternoon, despite the heavy rain the newcomers of the department enjoyed various outdoor activities during the Freshman’s Camp. The event was warmed up with a flashmob and modern dance by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch’s performance team.
The freshers excitingly participated in many games and activities. There was food at the Cuisine Stands, the General Knowledge Game through different stations and outdoor exercising games comprising of a range of minigames.

In the evening, everyone was engaged into a Talk show called Draw Your Color. Just like its name, the talk show was such a colorful event. Being new to the university life, the freshmen had many questions about learning, research and other matters. All of these questions were carefully answered by the Dean and other department staffs to equip the freshers with confidence to take their opportunities and to face their upcoming challenges.

Useful advice from alumni delegates was also a present for the first year students. Successful former students have shared their experience and learnt lessons with the freshers hoping that they can have the correct orientation towards their future right from now.

Was it a boring event with just talk and talk? Alsolutely not. Draw Your Color was also embellished with performances by the department students. The songs and dances were vibrant just like their blooming youth.

Through all of these events, the organizers hoped that the new students not only had fun, but had chances to get to know each other better and joyfully and proudly become part of the department.
