Enrolment Requirements
Subject to the Regulations on Full-time  Tertiary Enrolment of the Ministry of Education and Training, promulgated in conjunction with Decision No 05/2008/QĐ- BGDĐT of the Minister of Education and Training dated 05 February 2008.

Requirements for Learners’ Studying Attitudes
 Graduates from Department of International Studies:
- are of love for the nation and fellow country people and of national pride;
- have the mastery of the principles on professional morality and are willing to take over tasks assigned;
- are of ambitions and constantly strive for learning, training and serving the nation;
- abide by the laws of the State;
- behave well towards other people, master basic communication strategies and standard utterances.

Objectives of knowledge, skills and language proficiency
  1. KNOWLEDGE:
   1.1. General knowledge
- Knowledgeable about the basic principles of Marxist-Leninist philosophy, political policies of the Vietnamese Communist Party, and Ho Chi Minh ideology;
- Obtaining basic knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities relevant to the trained discipline;
- Fluent in listening, speaking, reading and writing in Vietnamese;
- Obtaining knowledge of informatics for office work;
- Knowing how to conduct a scientific research on the trained discipline;
- Acquiring profound knowledge of the economy, history, culture, customs, and festivals in Vietnam;
1.2. Specialized Knowledge on the major:
- Mastering knowledge of the Vietnamese language;
- Capable of perceiving the world and analyzing international events, especially those related to Vietnam;
- Capable of applying acquired knowledge to the research on of the Vietnamese language, economy, history, culture...
- Capable of critical thinking.
2. PROFESSIONALAND OCCUPATIONALSKILLS
 - Capable of communicating in Vietnamese;
- Capable of researching, teaching, or serving in related industries related to Vietnam;
- Capable of working independently and in team;
- Capable of establishing rapport and sharing information with colleagues;
- Capable of acquiring, analyzing and synthesizing ideas.

Employment opportunities upon graduation
Students completing the bachelor degree of Vietnamese Language and Culture may pursue employment in the following institutions:
- Institutions of Vietnamese Linguistics and Vietnam studies;
- Central and local diplomatic offices, international cooperation services of ministries, departments, organizations, security - defense agencies and, the mass media and tourism;
- Representative Offices of Vietnam, international, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in Vietnam and abroad;
- Joint venture companies and private enterprises.
